SALAMANGKA is defined as the magic, sorcery or witchcraft this word is popularly used in the Philippines as a supernatural phenomenon that is used by beings who possess spiritual powers either for good or to harm others.
Attached to these Magical Occurrences are several popular urban legends and folktales that are mythical and have been a source of cultural belief for Filipinos.

To gain some knowledge about these things we have interviewed Maestro Ricky Florante who has been known as the “ Albularyo of Pampanga “ he has committed himself to help others that have been victims of supernatural elements and man made curses. In our interview with him he also explained that all people have a certain amount of spiritual energy which for some are innately strong and for others are weak. For the weaker spiritual energy they are prone to be victimized by other people with the use of incantations or spells. Some also fall for the use of Gayuma which enchants another person to be submissive to the will of others.
He also explained that our world is composed of spiritual beings such as duende also known as ghost or goblin, Engkanto or Diwata mythical environmental spirits that can be good or bad, Aswang and Mananangal are other shape shifting creatures that can hide in plain site as one of us and is believe to prey on people at night.
As Maestro Ricky explained, all the magic used by other individuals to take advantage of others is also dangerous for the caster of magic. If a person who has been victimized might ask assistance of an Albularyo the said person could experience the casted spell ten folds and the Albularyo could also punish said person. Mostly Maestro’s spiritual prowess comes from the Lord Almighty with his strong faith he also strives to help people or spiritual beings that suffer injustice and misfortune.
